The Dragino WSC2-L LoRaWAN Weather Station RS485 Transmitter is the heart of your weather station. It enables the connection of various weather sensors, such as the Dragino WSS-09 weather sensor and the WSS-08 optical rain gauge, and transmits the collected data through the LoRaWAN network. This transmitter operates at the 868MHz frequency and is specifically designed for use in environments where precise weather data is required. The WSC2-L features an RS485 interface that allows for easy integration of various sensors. An external 12V power supply is required to operate the weather station with sensors. You can use a power adapter or a solar module in combination with a lead-acid battery and an MPPT solar controller. The MPPT controller optimizes the energy yield of the solar module, while the lead-acid battery ensures that the weather station operates reliably even in low sunlight or at night. The transmitter itself is additionally supported by an integrated 1000mAh battery that serves as a backup in case the external power supply fails temporarily. However, this backup battery only powers the transmitter and not the connected sensors. The robust IP66 housing protects the transmitter from adverse environmental influences and makes it particularly durable. With support for Bluetooth and over-the-air firmware updates, the WSC2-L offers easy configuration and maintenance.

Each sensor comes pre-loaded with a set of unique keys for LoRaWAN registrations. These keys are registered on the local LoRaWAN server, and the sensor automatically connects when powered on if network coverage is available.
