Creality SparkX i7 Nozzle-Wiping Strip

The Creality SparkX i7 nozzle wiping strip is a replacement wiping strip for automatic nozzle cleaning on the SparkX i7 3D printer. The strip is located in the purge and wipe station area of the printer and is used before each print start and between filament changes in multi-color printing. During this cleaning routine, the toolhead moves over the strip, so that the nozzle tip and the surrounding hotend are freed from filament residues and melt excess. A clean nozzle is a prerequisite for the correct function of the auto-leveling sensor, as filament residues would otherwise falsify the Z-offset measurement. The wiping strip is also crucial for clean first layers and reliable filament switching in multi-color printing. Since the strip is subjected to mechanical and thermal stress during each cleaning cycle, it is a wear part that must be replaced regularly. Signs of a worn out strip are burnt-in filament residues on the nozzle despite the cleaning cycle, faulty Z-offset measurements, or visible wear on the strip itself. Replacement is tool-free by pulling out the old strip and inserting the new strip into the designated holder. Before the procedure, the hotend must be completely cooled, as the strip is positioned directly under the nozzle. The strip is exclusively compatible with the SparkX i7.
