M5Stack Stack-chan AI Desktop Robot ESP32-S3

The M5Stack Stack-chan is a compact AI desktop robot developed in collaboration between M5Stack and the open-source community. The main control is provided by the CoreS3 development board with an ESP32-S3 SoC, featuring a dual-core processor with 240 MHz, 16 MB Flash, and 8 MB PSRAM. The main unit integrates a 2.0-inch IPS LCD with a capacitive touchscreen, a 0.3 MP camera, a proximity and ambient light sensor, a nine-axis IMU, as well as dual microphones and a 1-W speaker. The robot body is connected via USB-C and contains a 550 mAh battery, two feedback servos for 360-degree rotation on the horizontal axis and 90-degree movement on the vertical axis, as well as twelve RGB LEDs. Additionally, there is an infrared transmitter and receiver, a three-zone touch panel on the top, and a full-fledged NFC module. Wireless communication is supported by 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth 5 LE. The pre-installed firmware offers an AI agent, expressive animations, ESP-NOW remote control, and the ability to download apps online. Through a mobile app, you can use video streaming, avatar remote control, and OTA updates. Programming is possible via Arduino IDE, UiFlow2, PlatformIO, and ESP-IDF, and with Grove interfaces, you can connect numerous extension modules from the M5Stack ecosystem. Thanks to the open design and active community, the Stack-chan is suitable both as an interactive desktop companion and as a platform for your own robotics and AI projects.
