The M5Stack Stack-chan AI Desktop Robot Kit with Remote Control is a compact, AI-enabled desktop robot developed in collaboration between M5Stack and the Stack-chan Community. The CoreS3 module with an ESP32-S3-SoC serves as the main controller, featuring a 240 MHz dual-core processor, 16 MB of flash, and 8 MB of PSRAM. The kit supports wireless communication via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth 5 LE. The robot body contains two feedback servos, with the horizontal axis allowing 360-degree continuous rotation and the vertical axis enabling 90-degree movement. Integrated are a 2.0-inch IPS LCD with capacitive touchscreen (320 × 240 pixels), a 0.3-MP camera, a 9-axis IMU sensor, dual microphones, a 1-W speaker, and 12 RGB LEDs. The robot body also offers an infrared transmitter and receiver, a full-featured NFC module (ST25R3916), a three-zone touch panel, and a 550-mAh battery. The included remote control consists of a Hat Mini JoyC and a StickC-Plus, enabling wireless control via ESP-NOW. The pre-installed firmware includes an AI agent, expressive animations, app connectivity for video transmission, and avatar control, as well as OTA updates. Programming is possible via Arduino IDE, UiFlow2, PlatformIO, and ESP-IDF, and the kit can be combined with various expansion modules from the M5Stack ecosystem.
