400x300 4.2inch Black / White E-Ink Display

This Waveshare E-Ink / e-paper display module has 4.2 inches, 400 × 300 pixels and an integrated controller that communicates via SPI. Thanks to its extremely low power consumption it is suitable for battery-powered applications. Such displays are also used as price tags in retail, where they run for several years on one battery. The whole display is updated in about 5 s.

Features:

• Level converter on the board, therefore compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V microcontrollers
• The image remains visible without power supply
• Power is basically only needed for refreshing
• Viewing angle over 170°, easy to read even in sunlight
• SPI interface for Raspberry Pi, Arduino, ESP8266 or ESP32
• On the board, BS (printed) selects between 4-wire SPI (0) and 3-wire SPI (1)
• The supplied cable plugs directly onto a Raspberry Pi, for Arduino UNO or a breadboard 8 additional male/male Dupont cables are needed
