The Seeed Studio ReSpeaker XVF3800 with XIAO ESP32S3 and enclosure is a professional circular 4-microphone array based on the XMOS XVF3800 audio processor. The four PDM-MEMS microphones are arranged in a circular pattern, enabling 360° far-field voice capture with a range of up to five meters. The module offers advanced audio processing with features such as acoustic echo cancellation (AEC), multi-beam beamforming, reverberation suppression, direction of arrival (DoA) detection, DNN-based noise suppression, and automatic gain control (AGC) with a dynamic range of 60 dB. The board supports two operating modes: a USB plug-and-play mode for direct connection to a PC and an INT-Device mode (I2S) for integration into embedded systems. Switching between modes is done via firmware changes over USB or I2C commands. For visual feedback, 12 individually controllable WS2812-RGB LEDs are integrated, indicating device status and voice activity. An audio codec of type TLV320AIC3104 handles audio conversion, while a 3.5mm audio jack and a JST speaker connector are provided for audio output. The integrated XIAO ESP32S3 offers stereo I2S inputs and outputs, an I2C interface for configuring XVF3800 parameters, and an integrated PCB WLAN antenna. A unique device serial number enables identification and management in multi-device scenarios. The system is compatible with USB hosts under Windows, macOS, and Raspberry Pi OS, as well as with I2S hosts like the XIAO series, ESP32, and Arduino.
