MAX31855K Thermocouple Breakout SparkFun

The SparkFun MAX31855K thermocouple breakout board is a straightforward, SPI-compatible, serial digital thermocouple with 14-bit resolution that allows reading a broad temperature range. With the SparkFun thermocouple breakout board, you can read a thermocouple from -200°C to +700°C with an accuracy of ±2°C. The MAX31855K constantly measures the comparative point temperature with an internal temperature sensor diode, achieving high precision. The MAX31855K needs a power source from +3.0V to +3.6V (+3.0V nominal) and draws a maximum of 1.5mA. 

The board is designed to allow you to solder a standard thermocouple socket on, and you can easily plug in the most common Type-K thermocouples (plug is not included). There's no need for a plug socket. You can also solder a thermocouple directly into the holes marked "+" and "-".

The MAX31855K is only compatible with 3.6V logic levels. If you want to connect it to a 5V Arduino, you'll need to use a logic level converter, which you can also find in our online store.
