M5Paper Color ESP32S3 Development Kit 4inch 600x400 SPECTRA6 E-Ink

The M5Paper Color is a development kit from M5Stack with a 4-inch large E-Ink color display of the latest generation. The panel works with the Spectra 6 (E6) technology, displays 6 colors, and offers a resolution of 400 × 600 pixels with minimal power consumption. As is typical with color e-paper, a complete image build-up takes about 10 to 20 seconds depending on the color complexity, but the screen content remains visible even without power supply. At its core is the ESP32-S3R8 with two Xtensa-LX7 cores up to 240 MHz, 16 MB Flash, 8 MB PSRAM, and 2.4 GHz WLAN. The equipment goes significantly beyond a pure display kit: A complete audio system with ES8311 codec, ES7210 ADC, MEMS microphone with echo suppression, and a 1 W speaker enables voice recording and playback. An SHT40 temperature and humidity sensor, an RX8130CE real-time clock, an infrared transmitter, and two RGB LEDs are also integrated. For extensions, a microSD card slot and a Grove port (PORT.A) are available. The device is operated via three user buttons and a power button; a touchscreen is not present. The integrated 1250 mAh battery is managed together with the M5PM1 power management and allows for very long runtimes thanks to a 92.53 µA standby consumption. The kit can be programmed with UiFlow2, the Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF, or PlatformIO. This makes the M5Paper Color ideal for digital picture frames, information displays, electronic signage, or environmental monitoring.
