The IMX378 12MP USB Camera (A) is a compact camera module with a Sony IMX378 sensor for high-resolution photo and video capture. With up to 3840 × 3032 pixels at 30 FPS, the camera delivers sharp images with 12 million pixels. Automatic features such as gain, exposure, and white balance ensure balanced shots. The module supports video formats up to 4K and Full HD and offers true-to-life color representation with low distortion. Thanks to the integrated microphone, image and sound can be captured simultaneously. Via the USB 2.0 interface with Type-C connector, the camera is cross-platform compatible – compatible with Windows, Linux as well as common single-board computers like Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano. It is also an excellent alternative if the typical CSI/DSI cables from camera modules with a maximum length of 50 cm are too short or if a uniform solution for different Raspberry Pi generations is needed, including the Raspberry Pi 5 with a smaller ribbon connector. Moreover, the camera can easily be used as a USB webcam on computers or laptops. Its small size makes it ideal for embedded applications, machine vision, or smart home projects.
