DFRduino Mega 1280 Arduino compatible board
This Arduino Mega 1280 compatible board by DFRobot is very well made and also of high quality. The only difference to the Mega 2560 is the smaller flash memory of 128KB. This board can be programmed using Arduino software. For programming, you will need an A-B USB cable (commonly used with printers and older peripheral devices). Like the original Arduino, this board uses an atmega16u2 as USB-UART converter. Thanks to the high-quality DC-DC circuit, the Arduino can be powered over a wide voltage range from 3V to 16V DC (Vin). You can also power the board via the USB port.
