1-Channel Solid State Relay Module 5V High Level

This 1-channel solid state relay module switches AC loads via an output of a microcontroller such as Arduino. The input is high level: the channel switches when the input is HIGH. Solid state relays switch via power electronics instead of mechanical contacts. This means no switching spark and no mechanical wear, even with fast switching. Integrated optocouplers provide the galvanic isolation.

Important: Only suitable for switching AC voltages, not DC. For safety reasons, operate the module with a maximum of 48 VAC, the open board has no protection against contact. The manufacturer Omron specifies the relay for 75 to 264 VAC and 0.1 to 2 A. Below these values switching is neither guaranteed nor tested, so check it in your own setup.

Connection to 5 V Logic (for example Arduino UNO):

• DC+ to 5V
• DC- to GND
• CH1 to a digital output, for example pin 8
• Output HIGH: relay switched. Output LOW: relay not switched
• Load to SW1

Connection to 3.3 V Logic (for example ESP32, Raspberry Pi):

• DC+ to 5 V (Raspberry Pi: pin 2): the relay needs 5 V here as well
• DC- to GND (Raspberry Pi: pin 6)
• CH1 to a GPIO. 3.3 V is at the lower limit of the On range, check in your setup
• GPIO HIGH: relay on. GPIO LOW: relay off
