The Shelly BLU RC Button 4 ZB is a smart four-button remote with Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth 5 LE. Each of the four physical buttons can distinguish between Single Press, Double Press, and Long Press, allowing up to twelve different actions, scenes, or devices. The remote communicates as both a Zigbee end device and a BLE beacon, enabling connection to Shelly BLE gateways, Shelly Pro Zigbee, or third-party hubs like Home Assistant, Zigbee2MQTT, and ZHA. Power is supplied by a CR2032 coin cell already placed at the factory, designed for a typical long runtime of up to two years. The housing has integrated magnets that allow the remote to be securely and tool-free placed on the included magnetic wall mount. This means it can be used either mobile as a handheld transmitter or fixedly mounted as a wall switch. The multi-click logic is configured in the Shelly Smart Control app per button and reacts in real-time. In this way, the remote can be a central part of a local, gateway-based smart home concept. For example, four light scenes, shutter positions, or ventilation levels can be controlled directly from the couch or bed. The connection to the hub remains encrypted and works locally without the cloud. In conjunction with Shelly Pro Zigbee, Shelly Plus with BLE gateway function, or a dedicated BLU Gateway, an expandable control element for the entire apartment is created.
