RAK Antenna 868 MHz with RP SMA to SMA Adapter

This 863–870 MHz blade antenna was developed for use with LoRaWAN gateways and radio modules and offers a stable omnidirectional characteristic thanks to vertical polarization. The black-colored antenna is made of robust plastic and integrates an RP-SMA connector; with the included RP-SMA to SMA adapters, the connection can easily be adjusted to devices with SMA sockets. Through the frequency-optimized design, the radiator achieves a peak gain of about 2.8 dBi and an efficiency of over 80%, significantly improving the range of LoRa networks in the EU band. The half-wave dipole design operates in a wide range from 863 to 870 MHz with a VSWR of ≤1.5 and an impedance of 50 Ω, ensuring a good standing wave ratio. With a length of approximately 198 mm and a diameter of 13 mm, the antenna remains compact; it can be tilted up to 90° and rotated 360° to optimize alignment. The set is delivered in a small bag and contains, besides the antenna, one short adapter that fits mechanically and electrically to RP-SMA and SMA sockets. This makes the antenna suitable as an easy retrofit for LoRa gateways, Meshtastic nodes, developer boards, or sensor nodes that require an external antenna.
