LilyGo T-Energy ESP32 S3 Wi-Fi Bluetooth Development Board
This development board combines the energy-efficient ESP32-S3 microcontroller with a 18650 battery holder for mobile IoT applications. The integrated ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8 features two LX7 cores, 16 MB flash, and 8 MB PSRAM for demanding projects. Thanks to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth LE, the board can be wirelessly integrated into networks or used as a Bluetooth gateway. Two 20-pin headers provide up to 32 GPIO pins, including SPI bus, two UARTs, 13 ADC channels, and touch inputs, complemented by 5 V and 3.3 V power supply and ground. A four-pin Qwiic connector offers a simple interface for I2C sensors, allowing sensor modules to be connected without soldering. The power supply can be provided either via a 18650 Li-Ion cell or the USB-C port with 5 V / 500 mA; the integrated HX6610S charging controller and the IP3005A protection circuit ensure safe charging and reverse polarity protection. An On/Off switch completely disconnects the battery, while boot and reset buttons facilitate firmware development. The board supports programming via the Arduino IDE, VS Code (PlatformIO), or ESP-IDF and appeals to developers who wish to realize their projects with C/C++, Micropython, or Lua. With its compact dimensions of 91.5 × 32 × 20 mm and a weight of only 50 g, it is particularly suitable for mobile sensor nodes, data loggers, and energy-autonomous IoT prototypes.
