Gravity AS3935 Lightning Distance Sensor

The Gravity lightning sensor from DFRobot uses the innovative AS3935 Franklin lightning sensor IC and the Coilcraft MA5532-AE antenna to capture lightning distance, intensity, and frequency within a radius of 40km, both indoors and outdoors. Besides the simple and efficient measurement of local thunderstorm data through its compact size and large detection range of 40km, the sensor can also be integrated into various portable devices for outdoor climbers or high altitude workers. This allows early warning of thunderstorms, so people can take precautions in advance. The sensor can also be embedded in the internal protection device in lightning-sensitive devices and automatically triggers these devices to switch to emergency power supply and isolate the power grid in case of a lightning strike. 

You can also use the sensor to photograph lightning. Because at the moment of the lightning, the interrupt pin IRQ generates a pulse with which you can trigger your SLR camera through an additional remote circuit.
