DFRobot Edge101 Industrial ESP32 with RS485 - CAN - Ethernet

The DFRobot Edge101 is an industrial IoT controller based on the ESP32 dual-core processor with a clock frequency of 240 MHz. The device combines WiFi 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.0 BLE with isolated RS485, isolated CAN bus, and a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. The electronics are housed in a robust metal case with ESD protection (6 kV), overvoltage protection (2 kV), and reverse polarity protection. The power supply is wide with 9 to 26 V DC and alternatively can be realized via USB Type-C with 5 V. The rear expansion provides 11 native GPIOs of the ESP32 and three Gravity-I2C ports, allowing direct connection to DFRobot sensors and actuators. An integrated PCIe slot combined with Nano-SIM holder allows expansion with 4G or NB-IoT modules. A TF card slot for up to 32 GB ensures local data storage, and an internal RTC enables timestamped data acquisition. On the RS485 and CAN bus side, 120 Ohm termination resistors are switchable. The housing supports multiple mounting methods, including DIN rail mounting and wall mounting with fastening tabs. The controller is programmed via Arduino IDE with the official Edge101 SDK from DFRobot, alternatively development with ESP-IDF is possible.
