BIQU TD1s Hueforge digital colorimeter for filament

The BIQU AJAX TD1s is a compact measuring device for accurately capturing the optical properties of 3D printing filaments and was developed in collaboration between AJAX 3D and BIGTREETECH. The device measures the TD value (Transmission Distance) of 1.75 mm filament with an accuracy of ±7.5% and simultaneously captures the exact HEX color code of the material. This data enables photorealistic multicolor prints with HueForge software, as the translucency and color of the filament are digitally mapped. Furthermore, the TD1s is indispensable for exact color configuration in the slicer with printers that have a low purge factor like 0.7 or 0.8, such as the Spark i7. By precisely capturing the actual filament color, it prevents entering values that are too dark, which could lead to unwanted color bleeding with minimal material changes. The integrated OLED display shows all measurements in real-time and allows autonomous use without a permanent computer connection. Power is supplied via a universal USB-C port. In Quick Capture Mode, filaments are registered in seconds, while the Continuous Capture Mode allows continuous monitoring during printing or even during filament production. The TD1s is the compact further development of the original TD-1 and features a durable injection-molded housing for professional use. Seamless HueForge integration allows new filaments to be directly added to the personal material library without manual input.
