8-Channel Relay Module

The 8-channel relay module switches loads up to 30 V via the digital outputs of a microcontroller such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi. The control lines are on header pins and can be connected with Dupont cables, and the load is connected via screw terminals. Optocouplers isolate the control side from the relays and, with the JD-VCC jumper removed, also the power supply.

Important: For safety reasons, the module is only intended for voltages up to 30 V and not for mains voltage. The marking 10A 250VAC applies to the individual relay, not to the module. The module is therefore not suitable for switching the mains supply of devices such as a 3D printer.

Connection to 5 V Logic (for example Arduino UNO):

• Leave the JD-VCC jumper in place
• VCC to 5V
• GND to GND
• IN1 to a digital output, for example pin 8
• IN2 to IN8 likewise to further outputs
• Output LOW: relay switched. Output HIGH: relay not switched

Connection to 3.3 V Logic (for example ESP32, Raspberry Pi):

• Remove the JD-VCC jumper
• JD-VCC to 5 V (Raspberry Pi: pin 2)
• VCC to 3.3 V (Raspberry Pi: pin 1), not to 5 V: the GPIO pins do not tolerate 5 V
• IN1 to a GPIO (Raspberry Pi: GPIO2, pin 3)
• IN2 to IN8 likewise to further GPIOs
• GND to GND (Raspberry Pi: pin 25)
• GPIO LOW: relay on. GPIO HIGH: relay off
