310x310 Aluminum Casting Plate Set, finely milled for Artillery Sidewinder X2

This 5mm thick aluminum print plate serves as an alternative to the glass plate of the Sidewinder X2. The advantage of an aluminum plate lies in its thermal conductivity. The aluminum alloy EN AW-5083 from which the plate is made has a specific heat conductivity of 110 W/(m*K) compared to 0.76 W/(m*K) of glass. This guarantees a uniformly heated print bed. This is particularly important when printing large-area parts. The heater of the Sidewinder X2 doesn't cover the entire platform. Therefore, with glass there can be temperature differences at the outer edges compared to the middle of the platform, leading to warping or adhesion problems. An aluminum plate minimizes these temperature differences. The plate is milled and therefore has a smooth surface. Various printing surfaces such as glass, PEI, or PC coated magnetic plates can be mounted on the aluminum plate with adhesive tape or clamps. Included is a cable that is screwed onto the printer's case and the plate to ground the plate.  

Info: To disassemble the heating mat, just check out some videos on YouTube. It may also happen that the heating mat sticks so tightly that it can't be removed from the existing glass bed without damage.
