SparkFun Twist i2C RGB Rotary Encoder Qwiic Breakout

The SparkFun Qwiic Twist - RGB Rotary Encoder is a digital RGB encoder with i2C, which can be easily connected via the Sparkfun Qwiic Connect System. The Twist takes care of various interrupts, switches, PWM for the LEDs and you can easily control and read all the functions via the I2C interface. The Qwiic Twist was designed to get rid of the large amount of cables needed to implement an RGB encoder in a breadboard. By using our Qwiic system, no soldering is required to connect the breakout board to the rest of your system. There are still soldering pins on the board in case you want to stick the encoder on a breadboard. A clockwise rotation of the encoder increases the total count by 24 and -24 counterclockwise. The number of "ticks" or steps you have turned on the encoder is all transmitted via I2C. The red, green, and blue LEDs are all set by software commands and can be digitally mixed to generate over 16 million colors! In addition, the encoder has a built-in button, so that the user can select a GUI menu or item by pressing the button. The Qwiic Twist uses a 6mm shaft. For controlling the Twist, there is a ready-made Arduino library from Sparkfun that you can use.
