Pixy2 CMUcam5 Image Sensor Robot Vision

Pixy 2 is smaller, faster, and more powerful than the version 1 Pixy camera. Like its predecessor, Pixy2 can learn to recognize objects that you teach it simply by pressing a button. In addition, Pixy2 features new algorithms that can recognize and track lines for use with line-following robots. The new algorithms can also identify intersections and "traffic signs." The street signs can tell your robot what to do, e.g. turn left, right, slow down, etc. Pixy2 processes 60 images per second, thus enabling smooth operation with the robot. With the Pixy2 Cam, you don't have to deal with wiring work, as the Pixy2 comes with a special cable that can be directly connected to an Arduino UNO via the ISP port. Connection to a Raspberry Pi is easy via the included USB cable. If you want to connect the Pixy2 Cam to another microcontroller or PC, this is also possible as the camera has several communication interfaces for SPI, I2C, UART, and USB.

For you to get the Pixy camera up and running quickly, there are already completed software libraries for Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Pixy2 makes programming easier by only sending the data that you want to evaluate. If you want to capture a purple object with Pixy2, for example, you can teach the Pixy to send you only data (X-Y coordinates, size, and unique ID) about these purple objects.
