The T-CAN485 development board offers a versatile interface combination of CAN-bus and RS-485 for industrial applications. It features an ESP32 dual-core processor with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE, equipped with 4 MB flash, and it can be programmed and powered via USB-C or the 2-pin screw terminal. For data storage, there is a slot for microSD cards to locally record measurements or protocol data. A 12-pin expansion header presents eight freely configurable GPIO pins with I2C, SPI, or UART, as well as power supply, allowing easy connection of external sensors or modules. The integrated CAN interface is based on the SN65HVD231 transceiver and communicates using the TWAI protocol, while the RS-485 function is implemented by the MAX13487EESA+ chip. The board can be powered through a 2-pin connector with 5 to 12 V DC; the integrated voltage regulator ME2107A50M5G generates the 5 V needed for the ESP32. Other features include a WS2812 RGB LED for status indication, boot and reset buttons, and a programmable power supply for the external bus. Thanks to its compact format, the board is ideal for automation projects, fieldbus gateways, or data acquisition devices.
